Badly behaved Chelsea deserved to lose final
Some may think Chelsea were unlucky to lose the Champions League final the way they did in Moscow, but in my view they deserved what they got. Their players spent the whole match falling over and feigning injury after every tackle, and spent their time whingeing at the referee, often shouting in his face. They've been England's worst-behaved club for years.
One incident in particular summed up their lack of good grace: when an opposing player appeared to be injured Paul Scholes, in a good attacking position, turned and put the ball into touch at the half-way line. When Chelsea took the throw-in, they returned the ball by putting it into touch some 50 yards downfield near the corner flag. Yet when Carlos Tevez did something similar near the end, the whole Chelsea team went berserk, pushing and shoving the referee and opposing players.
Didier Drogba deserved to be sent off, and one or two of his colleagues were lucky not to follow him. It is high time that football authorities told referees to send players off for such intimidating conduct, and fined the offending clubs heavily. That would put a stop to this behaviour within weeks.

Smith missed his chance
Regardless of the fact that, with 37 matches gone, Rangers were top scorers in the SPL - a fact pointed out by Chris Brown, James Hart and Iain Carmichael Fans with Laptops, May 22, but of which I was fully aware - the fact remains they had still not scored enough to put them in pole position. There is little doubt that Kris Boyd is their best goalscorer, yet Walter Smith has tended to not play him unless they need a goal.
Boyd's goalscoring record proves his worth to any team, and highlights perfectly the point I made.
