More than £2,000 was raised at Frome Golf Club's annual captain's charity day.

The money will go to the Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance and the Bath Dogs and Cats home.

Despite a weather forecast that predicted a very wet day in the end it proved to be much better than expected, although not everyone escaped getting wet.

The format of the day's golf was a progressive stableford competition over 18 holes.

The winners were Harold Lidbitter, Harry Phillips, Jia Ma and Nick Holton and the runners-up were Mike Corp, Alan Burge, Martin Burge and Peter Harrison.

Third place was decided on countback and went to Mike Jory, Gerry Moore, Gareth White and Andy Alden.
