John Hughes last night pulled off his second major signing in a matter of days when he lured former Rangers winger Neil McCann from Hearts on a two-year deal.
Hughes secured the services of his former Celtic team-mate Jackie McNamara on Monday and has now added further experience to help nurture his young squad with McCann's arrival.
The Falkirk manager also finalised a two-year contract for Lee Bullen, the former Dunfermline defender, yesterday, meaning he has added five new faces this week after youngsters Dermot McCaffrey and Paul McLean agreed to terms with the club.
McCann, 33, is keen on a new start after an injury-plagued spell since moving to Hearts from Southampton for his second stint at Tynecastle.
The Greenock-born player, a member of Hearts' 1998 Scottish Cup-winning side, injured medial knee ligaments on his debut at Kilmarnock and sustained a double leg break against Celtic last August.
He is only recently returned to fitness after having a metal plate removed from his leg.
Bullen, 37, has returned to the Clydesdale Bank Premier League after he was released by Sheffield Wednesday last week, where he was club captain.
"I'm delighted, as I've always said that we need experience," said Hughes. "We've worked very hard in the last few months to bring in the right players and I believe we have that now.
McCann has signed a playing contract, but will have a chance to coach at Westfield as he is studying for his badges.
