Edinburgh showed the staggering progress they have made this season under Andy Robinson, easily notching this final win to give their coach bragging rights with Scotland in Argentina this summer.
Although they achieved their highest finish in the Magners League with victory in Llanelli, the broadest smile on Robinson's face came when discussing how they had finished above their Glasgow rivals.
Robinson and Sean Lineen, his Warriors counterpart, will be assisting Frank Hadden with Scotland in Argentina this summer, so he was boosted by the two sides cementing fourth and fifth in the league with impressive away wins this weekend - especially because Edinburgh were fourth.
"I am just pleased to have finished above Glasgow - that comment's for Sean, I'll be on the phone to him now," joked Robinson, after his side had missed out on third place to Munster on points difference.
"I have a really good relationship with Sean, but when we lost to Glasgow I did not talk to him for a week because I was so upset.
"That is the way it should be. I want a strong Glasgow and Edinburgh and the two of us going at it as we have been this season, so hopefully it raises the profile of the game in Scotland."
If there is an award for rugby recovery this season then it would be given to Wales for going from World Cup flops to grand slam champs, but Edinburgh would be a close second for finishing the season so impressively after the chaos of last summer.
They completed an unbeaten season in Wales for the first time and what was particularly pleasing was that they did it without moving into the higher gears for more than a few moments here and there.
Llanelli Scarlets are struggling after the departure of coach Phil Davies and their internationalists were away on a Wales training week, but started strongly before Edinburgh's new-found confidence saw them through.
Scarlets opened the scoring but Edinburgh lock Ben Gissing soon replied with a 25- yard run to the line, put through the gap by a neat pass from centre Ben Cairns.
They then scored again through right-wing Andrew Turnbull. A lovely long cut-out pass from Phil Godman put him in space and he sidestepped full-back Daniel Evans without breaking stride.
After the break, the forwards set up a chance for Ally Hogg, then Nick De Luca picked a good angle from midfield for scrum-half Mike Blair to finish off and earn the bonus point for four tries.
Robinson is among the few who is not surprised by the rate of progress from the capital side after the chaos of last summer. "I can believe it because I have been involved in it," he said.
"There have been some real highs but there have also been some lows, but because of the highs we have felt we are going in the right direction so we have been able to deal with the lows.
"Going through the season unbeaten in Wales is enjoyable, particularly given some of the beatings I used to have here as a player."
