Mark Corcoran, the Hamilton attacker, says he is finding the wait frustrating after being told he needs an operation to save his season.
The wide player, who turns 28 on Sunday, has finally had to admit defeat after playing through the pain barrier earlier in the campaign with a hip injury.
After being sent to a specialist in Coventry last week he was told an operation would be necessary but has yet to be given a date for the surgery.
"The specialist looked at it and said I definitely needed an op but we're trying to get a date fixed up and it's proving difficult," Corcoran said. "It's driving be bonkers, to be honest. I know the quicker I get it done the quicker I can get into my rehab and know when I'm going to be back playing."
Meanwhile Billy Reid, the Hamilton manager, is unlikely to move for either Brian Shelley or Eamon Zayed. Both players have been on trial from Drogheda United this week but appear to have other options.
Reid said: "We had a look at them in a bounce game last week and they did fine but, at the moment, there's nothing in that one."
