Falkirk 2 - 1 Inverness CT
DAVE QUINNMay 12 2008

SITTING in a room filled with portraits of revered members of Falkirk's Hall of Fame, there was something slightly surreal about Carl Finnigan attributing his side's recent winning run to the inspirational powers of happy hardcore.

He wasn't joking. As the striker sat down to speak about his scoring role in the 2-1 win, rave music boomed through a paper-thin wall. "It's my CD it's just some hardcore rave," the Geordie beamed. All that was missing was the glow-stick.

Falkirk Stadium is clearly the place to be on a Saturday night in these parts. In the days of Kevin McAllister and Co, Tony Christie's Amarillo was the anthem of choice. John Hughes' class of 2008 prefer Hed Kandi, but it's paying off.

"The music has worked for the last two games, so nobody is complaining," said Finnigan.

Finnigan's killer second goal came after the break. Michael Higdon had fired Falkirk into an early lead and the home side were rarely troubled.

Hughes has vowed to add experience in the summer, but his biggest challenge will be to keep a hold of 22-year-old captain Darren Barr.

"Darren has been outstanding and the players look at him as a role model," said Hughes.

Craig Brewster, the Inverness manager, was clearly perturbed by his side's performance, with Barry Wilson's late penalty the only bright spot. "Falkirk passed us to death," he said.
