Tomorrow (Thursday) is judgement day for A level candidates around Britain. And despite the inevitable successes, some will be upset with their performance and failing to make the necessary grades needed for university.
Croydon College principal Vic Seddon said the path ahead doesn't have to appear so gloomy and, contrary to belief, life does go on.
He said: "One year courses let you do it all again, and this a very successful way of eventually getting into university."
He said students should reconsider their strengths and even review their courses.
He encouraged visiting your local college and making full use of the many career services that are now available through schools, colleges and libraries.
Universities now receive A level results beforehand and can make early decisions.
Mr Seddon added that the most important aspect of getting to university is not to sit around but to take quick, effective action.
