HERTFORDSHIRE Constabulary is a force to be reckoned with, according to a recently published high level

inspection.

Her Majestys Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMI) described the Hertfordshire police force as having a vibrant performance culture and commitment to total quality management.

The report, published last Tuesday and detailing the HMIs Performance Review Inspection of the countys force in January, highlighted its efforts to provide value for money and quality service.

But areas earmarked for improvement include ensuring the force practises fair policing of ethnic minority groups and that it conducts a study of sickness absence.

Chief Constable Peter Sharpe said: I am delighted that the HMI has endorsed our work so wholeheartedly.

We have been working to build a performance culture for four years, our staff have taken this and developed it through every part of the organisation.
