A HIGHLY-visible police campaign is aimed at forcing drunks, vandals and aggressive gangs of youths out of the town centre.

Operation Clean Sweep will see more than 20 officers, special constabulary, an MP, local magistrates and a licensing officer patrolling West Drayton, Hayes and other parts of the borough on Friday and Saturday.

Officers will take the visitors to potential crime spots so they can see how the police are tackling issues such as loitering, drunken behaviour, vandalism and aggressive begging.

Sgt Graham Dodds said: "Community concerns may not all be offences but they concern residents so they concern me."
