THE Hughenden Allotments and Gardens Association held their annual show last Saturday. The winners of the various cups and medals are as follows:
George Ridgley won the RHS Banksian Medal (19 points), and the Norman Turner Cup with a fuchsia. Eileen Blamey won the FC Moreton Trophy (24 points), The Lady Wooding Cup + £10 (24 points), The Arthur Fleet Challenge Cup, and the Crown Personnel Cup.
The Juliet Davis Cup was won by Sylvia Hill; High Wycombe Dahlia Society Prize: Bill Beadle; Garden News Top Tray Award, The Silicate Cup and the National Vegetable Society Medal (42 points), and the Associations Cup (44 points) were won by John Mace; Mrs Cox Memorial Cup (19 points) Alice Steel (8-years-old); George Ridgley Cup : Ann Way; The Woodcroft Cup: P Summerfield, medal: Andrew Barrow.
Andrew Barrow also won the Garden News Top Vase Award; the Lyford Tankard, and the Mr & Mrs Bloxham Cup. The Associations Rose Bowl and medal was won by L Way.
The produce was sold at the end of the show. This show is always popular, with a hall full of exhibits.
