Hertfordshire County Council is calling for people from ethnic minorities to volunteer as foster carers. Every month around 40 children in the county are taken into care, and to help them settle into temporary homes the council wants more black and Asian volunteers. Foster carers do not have to be married, and are paid expenses. For information phone 0800 917 0925.
