POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a Penge off licence was robbed.

An 18-year-old shop assistant at Threshers in Newlands Park was left terrified after a man grabbed an undisclosed sum of money from the shop's till.

He then ran off through east Penge.

But he may have been seen covered with splashes of dye from security packs around the money.

He was making off across the bridge at Penge East station, into Station Road, when the packs in the money burst, covering him with the stain.

He is described as a 20-year-old black male about 5ft 8ins tall and of medium build with cropped black hair.

He wore a light coloured sweater and light jeans and trainers.
