WILDLIFE enthusiasts are being asked to help survey the banks of three Kent rivers.
The North West Kent Countryside Project and the Environment Agency are asking people to record species highlighted in the Kent Biodiversity Action Plan as well as alien and nuisance species along the banks of the Rivers Cray, Darent and Shuttle.
Taking part in the survey involves surveying a chosen section of the river bank, about two miles long, and recording any evidence or sightings.
People are asked to look for native species such as water voles and otters or unwelcome alien ones such as mink, giant hogweed and the Japanese knotweed.
An information pack is available on how to carry out the survey. Call the project centre on 01322 294727.
