Purley John Fisher School pupils graced Twickenham on Saturday.
But after winning seven games to reach the Daily Mail U15 Rugby final, the boys cheered on by more than 1,000 fans were beaten 17-12 by Epsom College despite tries from Brian Williams and Derry Coughlan.
PE teacher Richard Jennings said the team will come back stronger next year. He said: “This will be a tremendous learning experience for them. The lads acquitted themselves very well and did everyone at the school proud.”
