Hampton 6 Banstead Athletic 2
The Beavers went top of the South Division with this comfortable win over basement side Banstead.
After going close twice early on through Mark Wilson, the deadline was broken after 14 minutes when Hakan Altinok headed a Gary Connelly cross in. Ten minutes later, Altinok intercepted a bad back pass from Foreman and took the ball round the keeper for number two.
Despite numerous other chances, Harding in the visitor's goal had a blinder and kept Hampton at bay for the rest of the half.
Banstead got one back after 53 minutes when Michael Branch clattered an opponent in the box, Pope scored from the spot. However, only four minutes later Connelly ran on to a lovely flick from Altinok for number three. Banstead simply went to the other end and reduced the arrears yet further from an unmarked forward.
Hampton then really got into their stride. A lovely move involving Chris Evans, Altinok and Craig Reilly resulted int the latter getting the fourth after 73 minutes. Two minutes later, Connelly pounced for his second.
Right at the end two of the substitutes combined superbly, Mike Hamilton whipping over a lovely cross for Prince Adu-Appiah to blast in off the underside of the bar.
Hampton: Ricky Webb, Michael Branch, Kevin Duffell, Tony Quinton, Chris Fossey (Gary Duffy 76 mins), Chris Evans (Mike Hamilton 76 mins), Craig Reilly, Mark Wilson, Hakan Altinok (Prince Adu-Appiah 81 mins), Gary Connelly, Tony Jones

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
