A PILOT inter-area cricket competition for young people has shown considerable talent emerging from the Kent London boroughs.
Canterbury's Kent University played host to 80 young players who were given the chance to represent their area of the county. The two-day competition was preceded by coaching sessions involving 160 youngsters and was funded by the English Sports Council.
Both the A and B sides representing Metropolitan Kent (Kent London boroughs, Gravesend and Dartford) were victorious in their respective competitions and players from Greenwich and Lewisham came out with flying colours.
In the A team were Nathan Giles from New Cross, Laurence Edwards from Eltham and Daniel Mason from Lee. Samuel Basi, and Tom Lawrance from Lee represented the winning B team along with Eltham's Tom Stone and Marc Bond.
