MULTI-TALENTED Danny Bullock will take the plunge on September 20 when he takes part in the London Triathlon.

The 28-year-old, from Walthamstow, is attempting his first triathlon, but he hopes the training he has been putting in will serve him well.

Bullock will join 3,500 other competitors in London's Docklands for what is the world's second largest triathlon.

Apart from the seasoned triathletes who will be competing as part of the British Triathlon Association (BTA) series, there will be hundreds more like him, who will be competing for the first time.

The event comprises a 1500m swim, a 40km cycle ride and a 10km run -- one after the other. But the gruelling itinerary doesn't worry sports-mad Bullock in the slightest.

Apart from being a competitive swimmer, once competing in the Commomwealth Games trials, the former Monoux College pupil cycles every day to work in the West End and regularly pounds the pavements of Walthamstow near his home in Douglas Avenue.

The only thing worrying him is a business trip to Amsterdam which could disrupt his training schedule. "It's bad timing really," confessed Bullock, who will probably keep in shape by jogging around the canals of the famous city.

While the triathlon represents a personal challenge for Bullock, he will also be hoping to do his bit for charity. The London Triathlon raises huge amounts of cash for needy causes and Bullock will be doing his bit for Action Research -- a charity concerned with finding vaccines for life threatening illnesses.
