Football fan's laid to rest
Mourners paid their last respects to football fan Matthew Fox on Thursday, July 16.
The 25-year-old Fulham fan, from old Lodge Lane, Purley died after sustaining head injuries following violent clashes between rival fans at the club's league match with Gillingham in March. After the service at St Mary's Church in Wallington, Foxy as he was affectionately known to his friends, was taken to Bandon Hill Cemetery. Barry Cullen from Whitstable in Kent has been charged with his murder and will appear at Maidstone Crown Court tomorrow (Thursday).
Charity merger Homeless charity Look Ahead has merged with Croydon-based South London supported housing provider Outlet.
Look Ahead will continue to provide the same services for residents including the rent deposit scheme which has successfully housed more than 150 single homeless people in Croydon in recent years.
Karate chance A new initiative, Leisure against Crime, is giving residents the chance to improve their physical and mental discipline through the study of Karate.
