The Sutton and District Athletic Club got off to a flying start in this season's East Surrey League championships.
Racing at the Epsom and Ewell Harriers' track two weeks ago, Wallington County Grammar School pupils Andrew Franklin (11mins 4 secs) and Richard Ward (11 mins 7 secs) sped home to take gold and silver in the Under 17s two mile event.
Johnson and Ansell salvaged some honour for the Epsom and Ewell Harriers, finishing behind the leaders in times of 12 mins 54 secs and 13 mins 11 seconds respectively.
