Surrey Wildlife Trust's junior branch, Widlife Watch, has been busy preparing for its summer nationwide project to find out more about Britain's beautiful wildflowers.

The group is organising Wildflower Watch this June and to coincide with the launch of the event, volunteers visited the Bay Pond education centre recently to plant a butterfly garden.

One event within the project will see a Wildflower Day at Bay Pond, Godstone on the reserve's popular summer Open Day on Sunday, June 28.

A spokesman for the group said: "Everyone is welcome at the trust's working parties - there are no membership formalities and no special skills are required.

It's a great way to learn about conservation while actively helping the country's wildlife.
