Flackwell Heath 0 Epsom and Ewell 3

Epsom and Ewell's performance at Wilks Park in Saturday's Ryman League Division Three game must rank as one of their best displays of the season.

Once ahead they virtually took control.

The home side, who before the game were one place and four points ahead of their visitors, had very few answers to a rampant Epsom side who, as the second half progressed, threatened to run riot.

Epsom were forced to re-shuffle after just 19 minutes when the unlucky Martyn Jones, still feeling his way back after a long absence with a knee injury, was forced to limp off with a tweaked hamstring.

Paul Bunter came into midfield enabling Kevin Webb to take the place of Jones upfront alongside Andy Boxall.

Four minutes later, Epsom took the lead, Andy Nimmo won the ball in midfield and although his intended pass to Boxall on Epsom's right was blocked, he found Boxall with his second pass, and Boxall's near-post cross saw Kevin Webb steer his header past Flackwell keeper Matt Timberlake for his 10th goal of the season.

The last 25 minutes were dominated by Epsom.

Matt Flint conceded a corner as Andy Boxall cut inside, and another moment of Boxall brilliance saw him increase Epsom's lead, his superbly flighted corner taking advantage of Timberlake's somewhat suspect positioning, the ball dropping straight in just inside the far post.

With Epsom pressing forward in numbers, a third just had to come, and with eight minutes left a timely interception and an early ball out of defence by Nigel Bennett started the move.

Andy Boxall fed Micky Owen on the right and his cross found Kevin Webb turning to score past Timberlake.

In the semi-finals of the Vandanel Associate Members Trophy, Epsom and Ewell have been drawn away to Division Two promotion candidates Wealdstone, the tie to be played in the week starting Monday, March 16.

The other semi-final sees Egham Town entertain Bedford Town.
