A recent sports aerobatics contest at Borehamwood's Hawksmoor Centre produced medals for members of the Hawksmoor Gymnastics Club.

The contest involved gymnasts from the club's advanced section doing a floor routine to music, which included tumbling, balances and dance.

The routines were performed in pairs.

From the A group of the advanced section: sisters Sherri Leatham and Tarra Leatham won gold medals and were the over-all champions; Tracey Lindsell and Kelly Cussell won silver medals and Stephanie Dunn and Samantha Dunn won bronze medals.

From the B group of the advanced section: Cloe Hustwitt and Stephanie Dunn won gold medals; Lovetta Roff and Jessica Smith silver and Melanie Stride and Frances Degnan bronze.

A trophy for gymnast of the month was presented to Gemma Young for her dedication and being the most improved gymnast during February.

Head coach Carol Leckie said: "All the girls have dedicated a lot of time to their routines and worked extremely hard.

"I am very proud of them.

"Hawksmoor has recently purchased new matting for performing weekly classes on and competitions.

"Our thanks must go to Neil Cole, duty manager, for continued support in buying such equipment."

Hawksmoor Gymnastics Club is held on Saturdays, and classes run termly from beginners to advanced for both boys and girls.
