OAPS' BREAK: The National Benevolent Fund for the Aged is looking for up to 50 pensioners living on low incomes in Thamesmead, who have not had a holiday for at least four years, and who can get on and off a coach and look after themselves without help. The holiday, at the three-star Queens Hotel in Eastbourne, is from March 17 to 23, and includes coach travel to and from Thamesmead, accommodation, breakfast, evening meal as well as outings and entertainment. RUN FOR CHARITY: North West Kent Motor Neurone Disease Association is looking for someone who is running in the London Marathon but not running for a charity to help it raise money. Anyone who feels they may be able to help should call Eileen or Alex on 01322 228169.
HOSPICE IN NEED: The Lions Hospice needs help in their charity shops at Dartford and Swanscombe. Volunteers are needed to help with sorting, pricing, steaming clothes and similar tasks. Hours are flexible with a minimum requirement of one morning or evening a week. Anyone interested should call 01322 272476 between 9.30am and 1.30pm.
