A SECOND-HALF winner from Radek Ostas saw Bishop's Stortford hockey team extend their winning sequence to five consecutive games with an excellent away win against second-placed Cambridge City.

Stortford controlled the opposition attack well in the first half, restricting them to a couple of speculative shots.

The visitors had more joy in attack with Vernon Brown and Tony Colclough causing problems on the right flank.

The deadlock was broken with an excellent short-corner routine. Ostas passed to Tom Bull who converted from close range.

The second half saw Cambridge move up a gear. They equalised from a short corner, putting away the rebound after Matt Morris had saved the initial shot.

The game was now in the balance but Stortford's desire to win and collective discipline shone through.

Another short corner produced the winner as Ostas rasped home his shot from the top of the circle. Stortford visit Chelmsford on Saturday.
