POLICE are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a Sawbridgeworth man was found lying in Workers Road, near the High Laver Church crossroads with serious injuries.
The man, said to be in his 50s, was discovered by another man at 10.30am last Wednesday he raised the alarm at a nearby farm, but then left the scene.
The injured man, who is believed to have come off his bicycle, was taken to Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, where his condition is described as critical. He had been wearing black leggings and a black and red top at the time of the accident.
Police want to speak to the man who found the victim and anyone else with any information. Ring PC Dave Hewes at Ongar police station on 01277 362013.
