The Orion Primary School in Grahame Park will be given a facelift after a government grant of more than £160,000 was announced this week.
The Lanacre Avenue school will have its infants playground, offices, nursery kitchen, computer suite and library improved this year with a complete redecoration.
Improvements to the junior playground, disabled access and toilets are all earmarked to be updated next year.
Headteacher Chris Flathers said: "It is great news for Grahame Park children, and we are incredibly lucky to have this money."
