A Lee Newman hat-trick helped Boreham Wood 2000's U16s to a cracking 7-0 win over Oxhey Jets on Sunday.

Newman's trio of strikes in this West Herts League hammering of Oxhey were joined by goals from man-of-the-match Mark Duddy, Ravi Khera and Sam McDonagh.

Newman opened Wood's account and Khera added the second through a close range header.

Wood extended their lead after the break when Duddy whipped in the third goal. On-fire Newman completed his hat-trick and McDonagh drilled in Boreham Wood's other two goals.

This Sunday, the U16s take on St Albans City in the second round of the West Herts League Challenge Cup.

Boreham Wood's U15s notched up a 4-0 win and a 1-1 draw in their Bushey Friendly League (BFL) double header against Barnet EBOG at the weekend.
