In my letter published in the Borehamwood & Elstree Times on January 18 I asked the question: who does Councillor Brian York think he is fooling regarding the relocation of Borehamwood library?

After Councillor Frank Ward's letter of January 25, I must ask him the same question.

While Mr York has fired the opening shots of the upper Elstree Way land take-over, Mr Ward appears to be attempting to lay down a smoke screen to cover what can only be described as some very dodgy dealings.

Mr Ward, with his usual modesty, mentions his stand against the construction of numerous superfluous office blocks, built locally in 1983. This has absolutely no comparison with the situation that exists today.

There is no legislation which states that essential public buildings, ideally located which include the fire and ambulance stations, as well as the library, nursery and medical centre should be relocated, and the site then handed over to greed-ridden land developers, aided and abetted, as I have stated in the past, by a number of local councillors, while other councillors, not actively involved in the scheme, aid the project by their complete lack of protest.
