MOBILE phone users who make malicious calls to the emergency fire services may find themselves disconnected.
Kent Fire Brigade has reached an agreement with mobile phone providers to disconnect culprits.
A brigade spokesman said: All calls to the emergency services are recorded.
When a malicious call is made the recording is used as evidence to support a request for disconnection of the phone.
We find the mobile phone operators are keen to ensure their networks are not used for improper reasons and will either issue the phone user with a warning or disconnect the phone if it has been misused.
