POLICE are looking for a bruised would-be mugger who ended up getting attacked by his intended victim. The mystery man got a taste of his own medicine when the plucky teenager lashed out at him punching in the face and head.
The 17-year-old schoolgirl turned the tables on the mugger when he tried to grab her bag as she walked to Newstead Wood School along a footpath between Sandy Bury and Deacon Leas roads, Orpington, at about 10am on Tuesday, March 28. Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Paul Foreman said the girl had the “presence of mind” to strike out at her attacker, punching him in the head.
Although the schoolgirl bruised her knuckles, the mugger ran off empty handed, swearing and holding his head.
The suspect is white, about 5ft 11ins tall, wearing dark blue track suit bottoms and zip fronted top over a white T-shirt. Call 020 8284 8048 or anonymously on 0800 555111.
