THE Socialist Alliance has found itself in election hot water with rivals from Lewisham Council.

Labour councillors on the authority have hit out after what they said were flyposters and graffiti by the party had to be removed from Lewisham High Street and New Cross at taxpayers' expense.

Deputy for environment Councillor Paul Fallon said the Socialist Alliance should publicly apologise. He welcomed the council's action to remove the posters and graffiti but regretted the costs of doing so.
