CONSERVATIONISTS have been hacking back small trees in Bromleys ancient woodlands.
Bromley Conservation Volunteers have been coppicing hazel in the north downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The traditional method of cutting back young trees to encourage shoots also ensures spring sunshine for wild flowers.
Cleared timber has been used for stakes, logs, fencing and to make charcoal.
On December 3, volunteers will be restoring an historic pond in Cudham.
