IOLANTHE is the star attraction in the Centre Theatre next week from Wednesday to Saturday. This Gilbert and Sullivan satirical opera, attacks the British legal and Parliamentary systems and females getting involved in politics.

There is a magnificent song for the men's chorus when they appear as Peers of the Realm to the rousing notes of Loudly let the Trumpets Bray and later there is an equally rousing patriotic song When Britain really ruled the Waves.

There are also some chorus numbers for the ladies led by a Fairy Queen who has the authority and loneliness of a leader. In this opera male superiority, social snobbery and the law of the land are no match for fairy law.
