THE Royal British Legion will be holding their Remembrance Service and Parade at the War Memorial on Sunday, November 11. The following roads will be closed to traffic from 10.30am - 12.30pm: The Common and Common Road, also Treadaway Road from the Golf Club to the War Memorial.

A MUSICAL quiz evening in aid of Age Concern is being held at the Day Centre next to the Community Centre on Saturday, November 17. Tickets at £8.50 to include a ploughman's supper are available from Maureen Rints on 01628 523186 or from the Day Centre 01628 526113. All are welcome to make up a team and join the fun.

FOR the younger members of the village there is a youth disco on the same date, November 17, at the Scout and Guide HQ.

REGULAR quiz nights are held at the Green Man on Sundays at 8.30pm, and at the Cherry Tree on Tuesdays at 7.30pm.

TREADAWAY Hill will be closed from Monday November 12 for two to three weeks. Demolition of the church wall for safety reasons will result in an improved footway up the hill. Diversions will be signposted through Wooburn Green but be warned that journey times will take longer.

FOOTBALL. The 1st XI drew 2-2 with Leighton Town with goals from Tristan Heywood and Jamie Charles. The Reserves lost 0-3 at Uxbridge; they play Kingsbury Town tomorrow at home at 3pm. Geoff Glasgow has been appointed Director of Coaching at the club.
