THE hillwalking and backpacking bible, monthly magazine TGO, The Great Outdoors, is relaunching this week.
The November issue, which goes on sale this Thursday at the unchanged price of £3.40, includes new features and columnists and a brand new design.
A new interactive addition to the TGO website is also launching on October 2 at www.tgomagazine.co.uk.
Included in the new-look TGO is a revamped gear section with more equipment reviewed than ever before; a new column by keen walker and Idlewild frontman Roddy Woomble; monthly advice and guidance from the highly -respected instructors at Glenmore Lodge, Scotland's National Outdoor Training centre; and a new monthly dialogue with two conflicting viewpoints on various hillwalking themes.
Readers will also get tips on spotting wildlife, a new column looking at different activities connected with hiking and backpacking that this month features sea- kayaking, a monthly spotlight on one of the UK's walking clubs, walkers' pub of the month and national events listings.
