Abuse probe at school for autistic children
STEWART PATERSONMay 12 2008

SENIOR staff at a special-needs school are at the centre of a probe into abuse allegations.

Strathclyde Police child protection unit have completed an investigation into Middlefield School in Hyndland, Glasgow, concerning claims of psychological abuse.

It is believed the four staff, including management, have been moved to work in a different location until the matter is resolved. The staff have not been suspended from their jobs and no-one has been charged.

A spokesman for Strathclyde Police said: "We received a complaint in relation to practices at Middlefield. Investigations have been carried out and a report submitted to the procurator-fiscal."

The school caters for 28 autistic pupils, aged between five and 18.
