Detectives investigating a double shooting yesterday released details of the vehicle they believe was involved.
George Redmond, 42, was killed after being gunned down outside a bar in Glasgow city centre last week, while John Maguire, also 42, was left seriously injured.
Both victims were known to police, who now say they believe a black Porsche Cayenne with an 05 plate was involved in the incident. It was first seen parked in a side street opposite the Waldorf Bar in Cambridge Street, Glasgow, at about 9pm on Monday. It was later spotted heading towards the M8 eastbound following the shooting at 10.25pm.
Det Supt John Riggans of Strathclyde Police, who is leading the investigation, said: "It is vital that we speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Cambridge Street from around 9pm until 10.30pm and who may remember having seen this vehicle either parked or driving away from the Cambridge Street area.
"The area has many bars, hotels and theatres and I ask any person that has the slightest piece of information, no matter how trivial it may seem, to contact the incident room at Anderston."
At least nine shots were fired from an automatic pistol by a gunman who fled the scene. Mr Riggans said at the time it was "not a random shooting".
A 48-year-old man who was with the victims just before they were attacked came forward to police on Thursday following a police appeal.
The three had spent the day socialising in the west end of Glasgow before going to the Waldorf at 9pm.
About a dozen police cars, including an armed response team, and two ambulances went to the scene following the incident.
Officers described the attack as "callous and cowardly"
and said they would like to speak to anyone who was near the car park immediately opposite the pub after 10pm on the night of the shooting.
Mr Riggans would not be drawn on reports that the two men were high-level members of organised crime families.
It has been speculated that Mr Redmond was shot because he had started working outside his crime family as a "freelance" debt collector.
The family of the dead man have already spoken out to say they do not want reprisals.
A dedicated e-mail address, GeorgeRedmondInquiry@strathclyde.pnn.police.uk, has been set up for anyone wishing to pass on information to officers.
The police incident room can also be contacted on 0141 532 3268/3269. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
