The southbound carriageway of the M77 was closed today after a car crash.

The lanes near junction 8 in Ayrshire were shut after the one vehicle incident at about 8.30am this morning.

A helicopter, ambulance and firefighters attended the incident and police were still there this afternoon.

Traffic was being diverted off the motorway, which connects Glasgow to the south, at junction 8 and reconnected further down the carriageway.
