One person was killed and rail services were disrupted after an incident on the main line between Scotland's two biggest cities.

British Transport Police said the incident happened at the Bo'ness junction near Linlithgow and involved a train travelling on the Glasgow-Edinburgh line early this afternoon.

First ScotRail said they were providing half-hourly services between Edinburgh and Linlithgow and between Glasgow Queen Street station and Polmont and a bus service between Linlithgow and Polmont until normal services were resumed.
