Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has resigned after dissolving the government and calling for new elections in May.
The decision comes following a split between Kostunica's Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and its coalition partner, the Democratic Party (DS) of Boris Tadic, over the issue of closer links with the European Union in the wake of Kosovo's declaration of independence.
