Whitgift School's record breaking Under-14 side completed a remarkable season by winning the Surrey Cup last Tuesday, July 3.

The side will now go on to compete in the national cup competition next year, after they beat Charterhouse at Send Cricket Club.

Whitgift bowled them all out for 115 runs, and knocked off the runs for the loss of five wickets.

The under 14 side finished the season with a record breaking 3,400 runs from their 14 matches with 3 batsmen scoring two centuries each.

Captain Matt Spriegel scored over 600 runs with two hundreds, Adam Healy over 500 runs with two hundreds, and Nick Grant over 600 runs with two hundreds. All three also play for Surrey CCC.

Tuesday was a double for the school as the under 12 side playing at the same ground beat Howard of Effingham to also become county champions and represent Surrey in the national finals next year.
