Morden's strength, experience and sharper shooting proved too much for a gallant New Addington side.

The tournament's 25th final was the first to be played at a Football League venue Leyton Orient's Brisbane Road ground.

After 10 minutes, Morden's Harry Bayliss received a pass up field, took a few paces, and drilled an unstoppable effort into the near corner. As New Addington tried to reply, Scott Smith had an attempt blocked by Morden's Christopher Beard.

Morden made the more strident moves, and a good attack involving David Francis and Bayliss had the keeper in action once more.

Morden had a number of efforts disallowed including one when the referee had already blown before the ball entered the net and Charlie Stagg attempted several shots for New Addington, which either span off target or were snaffled by keeper Kerry Wotton.

New Addington responded with a header from a free-kick being saved but, as Morden threatened again, Aaron Leacock had to make some covering tackles.

Nearly 15 minutes into the second half, New Addington almost levelled. From a right-wing move, Luke Spiknell supplied a deft-headed pass for Danny Pearcey to fire into the side-netting

As Lewis Clark excelled in Morden's defence, they took a stronger hold with about seven minutes remaining when Francis was released down the left to cut in and score with a crisp shot.

New Addington keeper Dean Wells crowned a superb display by saving superbly at the feet of two in-rushing forwards, and, perhaps the save of the game from a powerful left-wing cross-shot.
