Surrey's Martin Bicknell is relishing the prospect of locking horns with his brother Darren for the second time this season.
The two clash on June 25 when Surrey face Notts in the semi-finals of the Benson & Hedges Cup at the Oval.
The 32-year-old bowler in his 16th season with the county champions, says he is eager for a return to Lord's.
He said: “They won't like playing us at the Oval. I think they wanted to avoid playing us in the semi-finals.
“Darren and I speak on a regular basis. We have talked about the game and what's going to happen.
“I will be trying to do my job on the day so we can give ourselves a chance of reaching the final and then going on from there.”
Bicknell admits this season has been a disappointment for a side which has won back-to-back championships.
He added: “This season has been frustrating. Three out of our five championship games have been affected by the weather.
“The two games we have played have not gone the way we would have liked.
“It's been a slow start for the team and for me in the last two or three weeks.”
With the weather playing a part in the team's inactivity, Bicknell says there has only been one high point.
“In the quarter-final of the B&H Cup against Sussex the team probably played their best cricket this season,” he said.
“We played with confidence that day and hopefully we can maintain that sort of performance for the championship.
“The main thing from our point of view is we keep playing well and playing some consistent cricket.”
Bicknell was named as a Wisden Cricketer of the Year for 2000 but he says his hunger for the game hasn't altered.
“The award hasn't changed me or my approach,” he added. “I still want to take wickets and the batsman's attitude hasn't changed.
“It was nice to get the award, but we are in another season and all the players at Surrey want to win more trophies.”
Away from the rigours of the County game, Bicknell likes nothing better to relax away from the middle.
“I like a game of golf in my spare time,” he says. “Otherwise I like spending time with my two daughters and my wife.
“I am laid back person. When I'm at home I like to relax and be lazy.”
Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
