The Sotheby's Valuation Day organised by the Rotary Club of New Malden at St James' Hall, on September 24, was very successful.
More than 400 people paid to have their porcelain, silver, pictures, furniture and many other items valued; and many were agreeably surprised to learn how much their items were worth.
There were many items valued at more than £2,000.
We raised £1,063, which with the £160 raised from the sale of refreshments makes £1,223 to go to the Children's Trust, Tadworth.
The Rotary Club of New Malden would like to thank Sotheby's, clubs and shops that displayed our posters prior to the event and, of course, the members of the public who helped us raise the money for such a worthy cause.
