STREET hockey star Peter Beales has just returned from the European championships with a gold medal around his neck.

The Harlow whizzkid and his team, the Demon Flayers, beat teams from all over Europe to take the title.

Beales was also involved in the Bauer sponsored skater hockey event at Finsbury Park a fortnight ago where his team were again unbeatable, taking the overall title once again.

This weekend, the Flayers travelled to Barnsley for the national championships group pool tournament and the chance to progress to the main final. Sadly, they did not make it, but when one considers that they were up against players aged 18, with three more years of experience, coming fifth in their group was a tremendous achievement.

The side qualified for the Barnsley event by finishing third in their preliminary league.

The next major tournament is the world championships, sponsored by Bauer, which will be held in the United States in January 1999.

Any individuals of companies that would be interested in sponsoring Peter Beales, or the Demon Flayers as a whole, during or prior to that event should ring Annette Beales on 01279 861410.
