The ladies section of Richmond and Twickenham Athletic Club competed in their final match in the Southern League Division 3 on Saturday at Stevenage. With Stevenage and Croydon first and third in the league, and aiming for promotion, it was expected to be a tough match.

The result was a win for Croydon with 203.5 points, with Stevenage second with 196 points. Richmond and Twickenham were third with 151 points, ahead of Dartford (132), and Bexley (124.5). As a result, Stevenage finished top of the league, with Croydon second, both winning promotion to division two.

Richmond and Twickenham AC finished the season in 12th place, their highest ever position, out of the 25 clubs, and which was achieved without a team manager.

At 11am on Sunday, September 20, Richmond and Twickenham AC are holding their 12th Annual Open Veterans meeting at the Barn Elms Track. Many of the country's top veteran athletes will be competing, including a number of British record holders.
