K's in action against DoncasterPhotopress
Ks boss Geoff Chapple slammed his players for ignoring instructions asthey threw away two points against 10-man Telford on Bank Holiday Monday.
After a last-gasp winner at home to Doncaster two days earlier, Ks werelooking for a weekend of maximum points.
And that should have been the case after Scott Corbett netted on nineminutes, and Telford had a man sent off for pulling back Eddie Akuamoah on22 minutes.
Ks fans assumed it would be plain sailing and Chapple told players at thebreak to play their natural passing game.
"It was a big pitch and I said to keep the ball on the floor andplay it around," said Chapple. "But instead we did just theopposite, played it down their throats and ended up in an aerial battle. Idon't like football played that way."
And in the end battling Telford got their reward, sharing the spoils witha goal three minutes from time.
It was a disappointing result, especially as the side had looked fresh, despite the hard game with Doncaster.
Ks were training yesterday, and will leave early tomorrow for NorthwichVictoria. They're back at Kingsmeadow again on Tuesday night foranother gruelling game, against Stevenage.
Meanwhile Chapple has strengthened his squad with the signing of Barnetwing back Tarkin Mustafa.
The 25 year old is joined at Kingsmeadow by Russell Watkinson, anotherwing back, who comes from Farnborough Town.
Wayne Brown has been recalled for the injured Matt Crossley, who has athigh strain, and veteran forward Dave Leworthy is recovering from a boutof flu, though he should be fit for Saturday.
Chapple is anxious to avoid drawing too many matches, for fear ofslipping further down the table. Kingstonian have 11 points from sixstarts, leaving them in seventh spot. He wants to see them in the top sixby the turn of the year, although he accepts that - in their firstseason in the Conference - survival is top priority. For that hisestimate is 46-48 points.
Ladbrokes bookmakers reckon Ks are performing as expected with theirtitle odds remaining constant at 12-1. Not surprisingly runaway leadersRushden and Diamonds are now 4-6, with Stevenage 4-1.
Woking, previously 6-1 third favourites, have slipped to 50-1 after theirappalling start.

Why are you making commenting on The Herald only available to subscribers?
It should have been a safe space for informed debate, somewhere for readers to discuss issues around the biggest stories of the day, but all too often the below the line comments on most websites have become bogged down by off-topic discussions and abuse.
heraldscotland.com is tackling this problem by allowing only subscribers to comment.
We are doing this to improve the experience for our loyal readers and we believe it will reduce the ability of trolls and troublemakers, who occasionally find their way onto our site, to abuse our journalists and readers. We also hope it will help the comments section fulfil its promise as a part of Scotland's conversation with itself.
We are lucky at The Herald. We are read by an informed, educated readership who can add their knowledge and insights to our stories.
That is invaluable.
We are making the subscriber-only change to support our valued readers, who tell us they don't want the site cluttered up with irrelevant comments, untruths and abuse.
In the past, the journalist’s job was to collect and distribute information to the audience. Technology means that readers can shape a discussion. We look forward to hearing from you on heraldscotland.com
