A teenager was left with a five-inch gash in his arm after being attacked with a meat cleaver in a Finsbury Park snooker club.

The vicious assault took place in Rowan's Snooker Club in Stroud Green Road at 7am on Monday morning.

The 17-year-old victim was playing snooker with friends when another teenager, who was also with a group of friends. suddenly pulled out a meat cleaver.

He ran at the terrified youngster and chased him round the snooker hall, at one point slashing his left arm with the cleaver.

The attacker then fled with his friends, and his victim was taken to the Whittington Hospital for treatment.

The thug was described as aged about 17 and of Oriental appearance.

He was wearing a long black leather jacket, black shirt and black jeans.
