Spain death A 21-year-old Stanmore graduate was killed in a head-on crash in Spain at the weekend, just weeks after finishing her final exams at a top London university.

Jaimini Kara, of Old Church Lane, was one of five killed in a collision with a lorry during a sunshine break on Sunday at about 5pm local time, two days before they were due to return home.

The Kings College students were returning to their holiday flat in Benidorm from a day trip to Valencia on a winding east coast road in torrential rain when the tragic accident happened.

Two other women and two men were in the car at the time.

On Tuesday Mr Kara was too distraught to comment on the death of his daughter Jaimini who graduated just over a week ago with a degree in biochemistry.

Dinesh Kerai, a spokesman for the Swaminarayan Hindu Temple, in Westfield Lane, Kenton, which the Kara family attend, said yesterday: "I only found out about it last night. It's a tragedy and a great loss to the family. We pass on our deepest sympathy to them.

"They are very very distressed. I plan to visit them."

Spanish police are still investigating the crash.
