Trent Park Trotters were in action at Enfield on Saturday in the latest round of the Southern Athletics League.

The club have been pushing for promotion this season and before the meeting at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium they stood in fifth place in Division Six.

Unfortunately several injuries on the day weakened the team and they could only manage fourth place, behind their main rivals Kiddlington.

Too many points were dropped in the field events and despite success in the middle and long distance track events the team fell behind the leaders.

With just one more match to come, at Abingdon on August 15, the Trotters are in seventh spot and need an overall team win to stand any chance of going up.

Borough of Enfield Harriers are holding a 5-mile road walk on the playing fields at Donkey Lane on Saturday August 9.

The race is open to all entrants, but, as the start time of 2.30 has yet to be confirmed, anyone interested should contact Martin Oliver on 01277 217420.~
